Work in Progress

I'm currently working on an 1872 vest basque, a jacket that incorporates a faux vest. The jacket is shot red and black taffeta, the collar, cuffs and vest black velvet. The photos are of the jacket in progress; it will look much different when it is all together.

Because I wanted to be as authentic as possible, I hand-basted the stays in place. They will be covered by the lining once it is attached.

1870 Trained Skirt Ensemble

The skirt has the traditional five gores and two widths in back for train length. The full overskirt is pulled up in the center back and has four sashes hanging down the back. The sashes are black velvet, lined with the green taffeta.I have one ready-made (the one in the photos). This item is usually custom made. Corset and top are not included and neither are the underthings. They are available separately. 

I will be branching out from just historical fashion to every day fashion and formal wear. Nothing to post yet, but after we move, I will be getting my machines in gear again. As always, I am open to commissions.

Black Eyelet Edwardian Camisole

This cami is pretty enough to wear on the outside! Lovely millefiori buttons, and purple ribbon trim. French seams. $60

1870s Victorian Pleated Skirt

Shot taffeta skirt, hand pleated, French seams. Floor length. Authentic to the time period. Corset and petticoat are not included, but are available separately. Blouse is for photo purposes only. Skirts are $225. Corsets are $175.

Victorian Petticoat

White petticoat for under the Victorian Skirt. Front is flat as is the skirt, and the back is fully gathered. There are five rows of tucks in the back to help with stiffness. This is after the bustle era, so no bustle to be worn underneath. 1870s. Drawstring waist, as was the case in the 1870s. Seams are French seamed.

Petticoat can be made in your choice of colour, and is made from cotton polyester. If you wish it made from a more authentic or fancier fabric, the extra cost would reflect that. Price for the cotton polyester is $80.

Edwardian Drawers

These are closed-crotch Edwardian drawers, trimmed with lace. They are available in black or white, with or without the ribbon trim. The ruffles have tucks and lace. Sides button. They are $60.
